Impact Wrestling présentait son show Victory Road le 18 septembre. Un évènement où Josh Alexander est resté champion face à Chris Sabin, mais il a malgré tout décidé d'abandonner son titre.
En effet, suite au match de Christian Cage, Alexander s'est présenté sur le ring en déclarant qu'il prenait l'option C. L'option C chez Impact donne l'opportunité au champion X Division d'avoir une chance pour le titre mondial, mais en échange il doit abandonner son titre.
C'est ce que Josh Alexander a décidé de faire en précisant qu'il voulait son match à Bound for Glory. Christian Cage va donc défendre le titre d'Impact face à ce nouveau challenger le samedi 23 octobre 2021 pour le PPV. Vous pouvez voir l'annonce d'Alexander juste ici avec leur face à face :
